The Faculty of Arts is one of the largest faculties within UNAD, with approximately 2,800 students and more than 300 staff. In the early days, its primary emphasis was on history and languages. Within the languages programmes there has always been the possibility of specialising in literary and linguistic aspects of a language. Nowadays, besides traditional specialisations, new options are available, such as Business Communication Studies and the interdisciplinary regional programmes. Other examples of innovative disciplines are Cultural History and Comparative Arts and Cultural Studies.
