EKSU STUDENTS BECOME GOOGLE AMBASSADORS

Two students of the Ekiti State University are now Google Students Ambassador in Nigeria owing to their academic prowess in Computer Science.

They are: Master Olamide Timothy Tawose and Ibukun Omotayo Muyide both 300 level students in the Department of Mathematical Sciences with options in Computer Science. The two ambassadors were among 170 students all over Africa that attended the Google Students Summit between 10th June, to 13th June, 2012.

While welcoming the students to his office the Vice-Chancellor, of EKSU Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina congratulated them and urged them to continue to be role models to Nigerians students. Professor Aina who was with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Olugbenga Aribasala while commending the duo remarked that their choice as Google Ambassadors has further confirmed the strong academic status of Ekiti State University among  institutions of higher learning.

He urged other students to emulate their achievements and win more laurels for the university.

One of the students, Master Timothy Tawose, said that Google trained them on several google applications while in Nairobi Kenya.

He said that such applications would help students to communicate effectively on internet and improve the University Information and Communication Technology( ICT).
