EKSU STUDENTS TRANSISTION COMMITTEE INAUGURATED

To prepare the ground for a democratically elected students Union Executive in Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti. Students Union Transition Committee has been inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina.

Inaugurating the body on Monday, 23rd July, 2012 at the Odua Auditorium, the Vice-Chancellor represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Olugbenga Aribisala admonished the transition committee members to sustain the existing peace among students on campus.

He also advised them to provide a link between the University Management and the entire students population and as well as more along with the vision of the University.

Professor Aina urged them not to hesitate in making suggestions, when necessary, through peaceful means, in the overall interest of the University.

The transition committee members were also told to shun corruption in all ramifications. The tenure of the committee will lapse in December this year when it is expected that a democratically elected students union executives shall be in place.

The Registrar, Dr. Omojola Awosusi administered the oath of the office on the transition committee members.

Members of the Committee are; Aribasoye Adeoye – Chairman; Osai Florence – Deputy Chairman; Asere Ruth-Deputy Chairman 2; Olaniyan Folarin – General Secretary; Oshinui Kayode- Financial Officer; Adeleye Oluseyi – Financial Officer 2; Abe Olatunji – Public Relations Officer; Ajisafe Opeyemi – Social Affairs Officer; Oladiran Quadri – Sports Coordinator and Agbadaola Olabode – Welfare Officer.

It will be recalled that the Students Union of the University was suspended by the institution’s management few months ago .
