WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH HOLDS IN EKSU
Bracing-up to make its research relevant to the society, Ekiti State University organized a workshop on Grant Proposal Writing/ Resource Mobilization. The workshop was anchored by the Research and Development office of the institution.
Explaining the rationale behind the workshop, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olugbenga Aribisala said that EKSU as a world-class University would want research from its staff to be relevant to the society and the world at large.
This explanation was made while declaring open the two-day workshop. He urged participants to take advantage of the workshop to improve on their research methodology.
The Director of EKSU’s office of Research and Development, Prof. E.T. Akintayo, in his address, noted that the workshop became necessary to let participants know that the success of proposals for grant depended on the persuasiveness of the grant proposals.
According to him, “nowadays, writing of good proposals has developed into an art that must be learnt and mastered”.
Prof. Akintayo commended EKSU Vice-Chancellor for approving such a workshop which was in line with the vision to make the University a world-class institution.
Facilitators of the workshop which was conducted by the Global Centre for Research and Policy included, the Registrar of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Mr. Ayo Ogunruku, Prof. A. R. Adagunodo and Mr. Herod Lakoju.
