We have the mission of extending the frontiers of the University in its goal of providing world class education thereby producing graduates who are capable of contributing meaningfully to the holistic development of the nation at large and Ekiti State in particular. This Directorate has the duty of coordinating the day-to-day running of the Part-Time, Sandwich and Affiliate Academic Programmes.

The Directorate of Part-Time Programmes is a coalescing of three Programmes that had operated separately as Part-Time Programme in the University of Ado-Ekiti namely:
i.          Part-Time First Degree and Masters Programme
ii.         Sandwich First Degree and Masters Programme; and
iii.        Affiliate First Degree Programmes

The Directorate was initially conceived as a Continuing Education Centre with a Committee set under the Chairmanship of Prof. S.O. Bandele to work out the modalities for coalescing the three Programmes. The Committee completed its work and came up with new name ‘Directorate of Part-Time Programmes”, with the mission of extending the frontiers of the University in its goal of providing world class education to Nigerians thereby producing graduates who are capable of contributing meaningfully to the holistic development of the nation at large and Ekiti State in particular. This Directorate was then saddled with the duty of co-ordinating the day-to-day running of the Part-Time, Sandwich and Affiliate Academic Programmes.

At its meeting of 29th June, 2005, the University Senate met, considered and approved the recommendations of the Committee. The Directorate took-off with effect from 1st August 2005.

FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD
a.         It shall be the highest policy making body for the overall management of Directorate of Part-Time Programmes in the University.
b.         It shall give final approval and ratification of new proposals or change in policies and Programmes.
c.          It shall consider and recommend budgets for the Programme to the Development Committee of the University.
d.         It shall consider any other matters as may be referred to it by the Directorate or the Vice-Chancellor.
The Board of Governors of the Directorate of Part-Time Programmes meets on a quarterly basis.

FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD
a.         It shall consider and recommend student admission for all Programmes in Directorate of Part-Time Programmes.
b.         It shall consider and recommend Part-Time Programme lecturers for all Programmes.
c.          It shall consider disciplinary matters and recommend to relevant organs of the University.
d.         It shall consider and recommend examination results to Senate.
e.         It shall perform all Academic related Functions for the smooth running of the Programmes.

The Academic Board of the Directorate of Part-Time Programmes meets six times in a year.
