EKSU SHINES AT NERC COMPETITION

An SS 2 student of EKSU International College, Afao – Ekiti, Miss Faith Ayomide Ogundola has emerged as the overall winner in the 2024 National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Energy Essay Competition for SS 2 students held in Abuja.

Miss Ogundola came first out of over 500 SS 2 students that participated in the competition across the country.

The Essay topic where Ogundola beat other contestants was “HOW DOES THE NEW CUSTOMER PROTECTION REGULATION (CPR 2023) PROTECT THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ELECTRICITY CONSUMERS?”. The Essay was marked by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The award ceremony was held at the NERC ‘s office in Abuja with the first 3 winners receiving cheques, plaques and certificates. Ogundola received a cheque of #500,000.00 along with other materials, being the overall winner.

The NERC Chairman, Sanusi Garba, while presenting the award said that the annual event was to encourage children and youths to develop interests in Nigerian power sector, electricity and energy conservation.

The Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Professor Babatola Ayodele congratulated Faith Ogundola and the management of EKSU International College, Afao – Ekiti for making the university proud. He assured that the College would always receive his administration’s support.
