EKSU VC COMMENDS INTERVENTION OF NEEDS ASSESSMENT FUNDS IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES
The Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun has commended the intervention of NEEDS ASSESSMENT FUNDS in Revamping Infrastructural Deficit in Nigerian Universities.
The Vice Chancellor said this in his office today while receiving a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Education NEEDS ASSESSMENT Project Monitoring Committee.
Professor Olanipekun thanked the delegation and appreciated the various unions in the universities for their struggles which brought about NEEDS intervention. He further emphasized that without the struggles, Nigerian Universities would have been nothing to write home about.
The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of Unions as they were trying to see that University challenges were being tackled headlong.
The Chairman, NEEDS ASSESSMENT Project Monitoring Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Aruna said his team was in Ekiti State to monitor if disbursed funds from the Federal Ministry of Education through the NEEDS ASSESSMENT to institutions were being judiciously utilized and to also know whether projects specification were strictly adhered to.
Alhaji Mohammed Aruna, who is also the National Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University (SAANU) appreciated the Vice Chancellor for his doggedness in the way developmental activities were being carried out in EKSU. He noted that NEEDS ASSESSMENT intervention was a product of the struggles of university unions.
Alhaji Aruna used the opportunity to welcome the newly elected SAANU Executive members of EKSU and wished them well as they paddle the boat of SAANU to safe destination.
