SOKOTO STATE UNIVERSITY AND EKITI UNIVERSITY SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti and Sokoto State University have entered into a bilateral relationship to promote academic excellence, science and technology as well as staff exchange programme aimed at redefining tertiary education in Nigeria.

The Memorandum of understanding (MoU), which was signed in Ado Ekiti by the Vice Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Prof. Sani Mohammed Dangoggo and his counterpart in Ekiti State University, Prof. Edward Olanipekun was a landmark in collaboration between Nigerian Universities.

According to Professor Dangoggo, the primary objective of the MoU is to create means of cooperative efforts between EKSU and SSU to enhance the academic growth of the two institutions.

The Sokoto State University’s Vice Chancellor added that the choice of Ekiti State University for such collaboration was underscored by the reputation and standing of EKSU and Ekiti people on the world map of educated society.

EKSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, a Professor of Industrial Chemistry, said the two Universities will jointly carry out scientific research in areas of science and technology, exchange of experience in methodical and educational work, exchange of publications, information and teaching experience.

The two Vice Chancellors declared their readiness to provide all round support towards the success of the agreement terms. They noted further that this will create opportunity for academic ideas to thrive while EKSU and SSU can transform the society through innovation.

The MoU was signed by the two Universities in the presence of the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, (CFR) and Ekiti State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.
