… Establishes Endowment Prizes in Honour of Mother and Wife

The Immediate Past Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Joseph Ife Oluwole, has described his journey to the office of Registrar as a testament to perseverance, purpose, resilience and unwavering faith in God.

Speaking during his End-of-Tenure Lecture titled “Stewardship of Purpose: Navigating the Nexus of a Registrar’s Career and Destiny,” held at the Main Auditorium of the University, on Wednesday, 4th June, 2026. Mr. Oluwole reflected on his humble beginning, professional growth and eventual emergence as the institution’s Registrar, noting that success is often the product of preparation, commitment and consistency.

The former Registrar revealed that his administration was guided by the STAR principle — Situation, Task, Action and Result — a problem-solving model he deployed in addressing critical administrative challenges, particularly issues relating to transcript processing, certificate collection and service delivery within the Registry.

According to him, the approach enabled the Registry to identify challenges, assign responsibilities, implement practical solutions and achieve measurable outcomes that improved operational efficiency and stakeholders’ satisfaction.

Mr. Oluwole also highlighted the application of the globally acclaimed FISH Philosophy, anchored on the principles of Be There, Play, Make Their Day, and Choose Your Attitude, which he said transformed workplace culture within the Registry and enhanced staff commitment, teamwork and productivity.

Reviewing his years in office, the Immediate Past Registrar listed several landmark achievements recorded during his tenure. These include the digitalization of transcript and certificate application processes, the elimination of bureaucratic bottlenecks associated with certificate collection, reorganization and streamlining of transcript processing procedures, restructuring and review of career progression frameworks for staff, and the institutionalization of the End-of-Tenure Lecture for retiring principal officers.

Expressing gratitude to those who contributed to his successful tenure, Mr. Oluwole paid glowing tribute to the University management under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, for their support and commitment to institutional development.

In an emotional moment during the lecture, the former Registrar announced the establishment of two academic endowment prizes: The first prize, instituted in honour of his late mother, Late Mrs Emily Ebunoluwa Oluwole is to be awarded annually to the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Philosophy, while the second prize, established in honour of his wife, Mrs. Victoria Omosola Oluwole, will be presented to the Best Female Graduating Student in Ethics in the Department of Philosophy.

Mr. Oluwole explained that the initiative was his way of immortalizing the values of hard work, integrity, scholarship and service embodied by both women.

The event brought together principal officers of Ekiti State University both past and present, former administrators, members of staff, students, family members and distinguished guests who celebrated a career marked by purpose-driven leadership, innovation and impactful service to Ekiti State University.
