EKSU GETS FULL NUC ACCREDITATION STATUS FOR NURSING SCIENCE & TWO OTHERS

In a landmark development, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to three additional academic programmes being run at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti

The approval was contained in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor, which was dated 7th April, 2026, and signed by the Director of Accreditation, National Universities Commission, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.

The formal approval was the outcome of the Accreditation Exercise carried out in October/November 2025 by a group of experts for the assessment of human and material resources available for the affected programmes, with a view to ensuring the institution’s compliance to the minimum academic standard.

This milestone reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to expanding educational frontiers and addressing the evolving needs of society and industry.

The newly accredited programmes which NUC noted to be valid for a period of five (5) years after which the programmes will be due for reaccreditation are:

  1. Nursing Science
  2. Adult Education
  3. Education English Language

The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele expressed great delight and appreciated the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, noting that the approval represents a giant stride in fulfilling the university’s vision of academic excellence and innovation.

With this development, the total number of programmes with full accreditation in Ekiti State University has risen from 76 to Seventy (79) Nine, which amounts to 100%.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Babatola Ayodele uses this medium to appreciate the Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the Universty, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the University Governing Council and Senate for their roles and immeasurable support at ensuring this great feat.
