TRCN INDUCTED OVER 180 EKSU GRADUANDS INTO TEACHING PROFESSION

It was indeed a celebration of professional excellence, yesterday, as over 500 students of the Faculty of Education, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti were inducted into the Teaching Profession by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, (TRCN).

The Registrar of the Teachers’ Council, Dr. Ronke Soyombo who was ably represented by Mr. Ighalo administered the oath of allegiance on the inductees. She charged them to adhere strictly to the ethics of teaching profession. She also eulogized the inductees as the leaders who should lead while others follow.

The Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. T. K. Akinwamide in his welcome address, congratulated the inductees for the robust academic experience which make them distinctive in every field of human endeavour. He wished them success in all their activities as they have now become certified Professional Teachers in Nigeria, while regarding them as “THE GO-GETTERS”.

He also enjoined them to eschew laziness but exhibit sound morals and be of good examples to their students and the world at large.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Babatola Ayodele, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor(Academic), Prof. W. O. Adebayo felicitated the inductees and charged them to be commited to improving the Education sector.  He admonished them to be proud of the Teaching Profession because of the common saying that, “No Teacher, No Nation”.

He further appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State that notwithstanding the challenges confronting the society, Ekiti State University has continued to excel with it, being the best state university in Nigeria and 12th in the country according to the recently released Times Higher Education ranking.

He concluded by congratulating the Dean, Faculty of Education and all members of staff of the faculty for the combined effort to make the induction a success.

The Induction ceremony which took place on Tuesday 14th March, 2026 was attended by Management members of the University, Deans of Faculties, TRCN officials, parents of the inductees and members of the university community.
